The Women’s Fund of Western Massachusetts is proud to announce the accomplishments of our Fellow, Cynthia Staniszewski, a Frances Perkins Scholar at Mount Holyoke, and a member of our LIPPI 2012 cohort.  Cynthia was one of the twenty-five students of Mount Holyoke College to attend the launch of the State Department’s Women in Public Service Project. Cynthia had the honor of being inspired to consider a career in public service by the likes of Secretary Hillary Clinton, Madeleine Albright, Managing Director of IMF Christine Lagarde, Ambassador Melanne Verveer, and President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga. Cynthia ignites her spark with the MHC Women Attend Launch of Women in Public Service Project in DC

If you were to ask Cynthia why she chose to do her fellowship with the Women’s Fund, here is what she would tell you:

“Because as a passionate advocate for women's education and leadership training, I connected to the innovative and inspired leadership I see everyday at the Fund and in the communities it serves. As a member of the Marketing Committee, a Frances Perkins Scholar at Mount Holyoke, and now as a Fellow and LIPPI cohort, I feel an urgency to create solutions that focus on the root causes of social and economic inequities locally and across the globe. The Fund and it's mission allow space for strategic and creative thinking that lead to social change born out of the collective experiences and talents of the women they impact. Being part of the Fund I have the opportunity to explore where my passions intersect with my leadership and professional aspirations. It has shown me that when you are true to yourself, life unfolds in ways that defy reason and exceeds anything you could imagine.”
