Grantmaking

Annual Request for Proposals
We’re proud of our legacy of investing in women and girls. Since 1998 we have made a total of $1,000,000 in grants to 85 organizations, benefiting more than 20,000 women and girls in the four
counties of western Massachusetts. This year we’re excited to expand that legacy by increasing our annual grant amount to $100,000.

Request for Proposals—available for download by clicking the link below. All questions will be answered in the Pre-proposal Meetings—please plan to attend. If you still have questions after that, you may direct them to Julie Kumble, Coordinator of Grants, Programs, and Volunteers.

Seeking Common Ground Initiative
This new project of the Women’s Fund will bring together members of the faith and secular communities to focus on women’s holistic economic security. As a demonstration project, Seeking Common Ground will create opportunities for
women from these two communities to identify their common values and generate action that transcends traditional faith-secular boundaries, particularly to
help women and their families to move out of poverty and achieve long-term economic self-sufficiency. $150,000 was available in 2007 and will be again in 2008 for these collaborative project proposals.

Finding a Voice

For 2006 grantee Voices from Inside, their mission is two-fold: to facilitate creative writing workshops where women prisoners and ex-prisoners write their own stories in their own diverse voices, and to bring these stories to the larger community to increase awareness of the human and financial costs of prisons to our society.
