International Violence Against Women Act Introduced in Congress
On February 4th, Senator John Kerry introduced a historic, bipartisan effort to globally address violence against women.
The bill would support local efforts in up to 20 countries, training police and judicial officials on countering violence against women, and long term prevention efforts such as increasing women's economic security and expanding access to education.
The bill brings international attention to the three focus areas of the Women's Fund: freedom and safety from violence, economic justice, and educational access and success.
