2011 Annual Celebration

Our celebration featured Jennifer Buffett, President and Co-Chair of the New York based NoVo Foundation, where she works passionately to empower girls and women worldwide as primary agents of change and end violence against them. The NoVo Foundation also supports a specific strategic plan to scale the adoption of evidence-based Social and Emotional Learning in US School districts in pursuit of advancing whole child education.

Presented by Kathy LeMay, Founder, President, and CEO of Raising Change, author, and agent of social change and philanthropy.

Eileen Fisher Shopping Day

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Women's Fund for the fourth year at the Eileen Fisher Shopping Day.  The Eileen Fisher store in Northampton chose the Women’s Fund as the recipient of its Fall shopping day, generously contributing 10% of the day’s proceeds in support of the foundation’s work. Your Women's Fund of Western Massachusetts joined women's funds across the country, all participating in this wonderful partnership with Eileen Fisher and her stores nationwide!

Annual Golf Classic

This year's golf tournament was a wonderful success thanks to both our sponsors and participants! With LPGA Pro Marisa Kulig and two-time Olympic Medalist Mary Ellen Clark offering skills to enhance technique coupled with expert instruction from Lynn Oberbilling, this year's play was as skillful as it was fun. Thank you again to all who participated for your support of the Women's Fund of Western Massachusetts.

 

Leadership Institute for Political Impact Graduation

A new wave of leadership emerged in Western Massachusetts as the first women of our Leadership Institute for Political Impact graduated and were honored alongside Northampton Mayor Clare Higgins.

The 2011 conference, Leaders Among Us:  Women Redefining What’s Possible, offered compelling stories, practical lessons and unique perspectives from women leaders of all ages, including keynote speaker Maria Hinojosa, NPR & PBS award-winning correspondent.

Participants gained valuable skills and cutting edge strategies for personal, political, economic and civic leadership.

Over 125 players gathered to enjoy a day of golf, to support the Women's Fund and to honor Cindy Johnson for her commitment to women's golf in Western Mass.
